Everyday is my Thanksgiving Day!!
I hope you all are having a wonderful beginning to your Thanksgiving Week. It sure has went by fast! We will be visiting the In-Laws tomorrow so I thought I'd like to take the time to list some of the things I am thankful for today.
I am thankful for my salvation. I think my appreciation grows exponentially as I understand more about God, His word, His son and the more I am aware of what "LOST" means, having once been there and how at the time I didn't realize it.
I am thankful for my family. As many know my daughter had a rough start to life this past spring. We were able to witness an awe inspiring miracle through her many life threatening ailments. We got to see the power of prayer, an extended family emerge before us all having Christ as the center of their lives. We were able to see God glorified in the touching of our daughter and a complete and total turn around from where she was on the brink of death to full and wonderful health. We are SOOO thankful. Nothing could ever repay God for what we know He has given to us and thankfully He does not ask us to. But we can thank Him and proclaim His miracle to us to others. And so we shall!!!
I'm also ever so thankful for the friends and friendships that we have been blessed with this year. I'd love to thank everyone by name but will reserve myself to saying "YOU know who you are!" =)
I'm very thankful for the health of my family and myself. It is one of those great blessings that a person takes for granted until they no longer have it. Thank God for the ailments I have had over the past few years! That may sound odd, but I would have never thought so deeply, cared so much or held on so tight without my physical struggles. Someone once said something like... Until we are facing the surety of death, we cannot know how to live. It puts all things quickly into perspective. Your no longer worried about giving the kids an iPod, or a Wii for Christmas...but trying to convey your deepest desires that they will come to know their own need of Christ as their savior and how much you love them in a notebook somewhere.
I do not think that I would be doing justice to the wisdom that God has imparted to me this year if I should fail to mention how thankful I am for my husband. I just spent a quarter of this year digging deeply into my role as a wife and in doing so really learned so much about my husband...many thing I never knew, many things I had known but forgotten or taken for granted and a few things I would have never known any other way than by looking at my role through a biblical perspective. We've been married for 14 years and we are still newlyweds!!!! Everyday is a new adventure with my Visionary man. =) {Study: Created To Be His Helpmeet--Debi Pearl}
Those are the biggies. I have so many other things to be thankful and wouldn't want you to think I don't like my home, my van, my electricity and water or my dog. ;) I don't want to take anything for granted. Each day is MY Thanksgiving Day!

Slow Fade
Tonight I was doing my usual tour around godtube when I found something completely amazing!!! If you haven't heard the song "Slow Fade" by Casting Crowns then you are really missing something great. It talks about how sin penatrates our life ever so slowly, just one small thing at a time without us really being aware. Tonight while searching for a video that I could let my kids watch (due to the very nature of this song the videos have had more adult content that I'm not comfortable with) I found this.... this is a performance that a young woman did in sign language. And while I got goosebumps the first time I heard the song, seeing it done in sign made it even more impacting...you'll see what I mean...just watch. Darn!!! I tried to embed the video but it didn't take. Please click here...it will be worth your time!

Here are the words and if you haven't heard the song you may just want to read through them. There is so much to think about.
"Slow Fade"
Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade
Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day
Oh be careful little eyes what see
Oh be careful little eyes what you see
For the Father up above is looking down in love
Oh be careful little eyes what you seeMore later.
